It is also developing Crofelemer, an anti-secretory antidiarrheal drug, which is in Phase III clinical trial for prophylaxis of diarrhea in adult cancer patients; Phase II clinical trials for rare/orphan disease indications, including short bowel syndrome with intestinal failure and microvillus inclusion disease; diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome; and for idiopathic/functional diarrhea. In addition, the company is developing Mytesi which is in Phase III clinical trial for cancer therapy-related diarrhea, as well as Phase II clinical trial for irritable bowel syndrome; and NP-300, a second-generation antidiarrheal drug that is in Phase I clinical trial for symptomatic relief and treatment of moderate-to-severe diarrhea.
