About the Company
WisdomTree PHLX Semiconductor 3x Daily Short is a fully collateralised, UCITS eligible Exchange Traded Product (ETP) structured as an English law governed, certificated, registered, collateralised debt security. It provides investors with leveraged short exposure to the PHLX Semiconductor Sector Gross Total Return Index, delivering -3 times the daily performance of the index, adjusted for fees and shorting costs. For instance, a 1% daily rise in the index results in a 3% decline in the ETP, excluding fees, while a 1% fall leads to a 3% rise. The leverage factor resets daily, creating a compounding effect that causes performance to deviate from the simple multiple in volatile or extended holding periods. This product tracks the PHLX Semiconductor Sector Gross Total Return Index, a market capitalization-weighted benchmark of around 30 companies engaged in semiconductor design, distribution, manufacture, and sales. Fully backed by collateral held at The Bank of New York Mellon and using synthetic replication via swaps with providers like BNP Paribas, it offers transparency and liquidity through exchange trading with market makers. Intended for sophisticated investors comfortable with high volatility and short-term horizons, particularly one day, it plays a key role in enabling tactical short strategies within the semiconductor sector, without exposing investors to losses beyond their principal.
